DALL·E 2
DALL·E 2

DALL·E 2 was OpenAI’s first widely released text-to-image model (2022). It’s not cutting-edge anymore, but it’s still useful in certain contexts.

What DALL·E 2 Excels At

Concept blending → combines two or more ideas into novel imagery (e.g. “an avocado chair”).

Creative variations → can generate multiple reinterpretations of a prompt.

Inpainting/outpainting → edit or extend existing images in a fairly natural way.

Ease of use → minimal prompt-engineering needed compared to early Stable Diffusion models.

Speed → lighter than newer models, so inference can be faster.

Best Use Cases

Simple creative prompts → surreal combinations, fun visual brainstorming.

Basic design ideas → moodboards, quick sketches, concept starters.

Image editing → filling in gaps, replacing objects, extending an image’s borders.

Lightweight experimentation → when you don’t need ultra-realism or fine detail.

Education / entry-level users → good for introducing people to AI image generation without complexity.

Use DALL·E 2 for quick, playful, and experimental image generation — it’s great for rough ideas and creative mashups, but not the best for polished or professional-grade work.
